Those Funny Jewels
Jewelry says a lot about the kind of person you are. Pearls give out a vibe that say, “Hey I’m a cool, calm, traditional individual” while a simple gold chain expresses “I’m a simple kind of person, but I do enjoy a good time now and again.” There’s a time and a place for each piece of jewelry but what kind of gems would you wear to a stand-up comedy festival? Or a five ring circus? Humorous jewelry is what. And it just so happens that there is a gallery of humorous art/jewelry at the Luke and Eloy Gallery in Lawrenceville.
Beginning November 15th the Luke and Eloy Gallery will be home to “Laughing Stock.” This is a gallery that features only the most inventive and humorous fashion jewelry. This ranges from a set of brass knuckles covered in lettuce (knuckle sandwich) to faux barbed wire earrings. It approaches absurd, but what good art does not test the boundaries of its medium?
An opportunity to pick up a pair of hilarious earrings break the ice with at parties, or a silly pin that makes a statement while being humorous should not be passed up.
